You once were a tear,
a drop in the sea.
Do you remember
the smooth cheek
to which you bade farewell?
A painful sigh blew you away,
setting you adrift on a puffy cloud.
Upon awakening, you were promised:
no more, no more crying for you.
Stripped of memory,
you wedded oblivion,
becoming part of the rain—
the great vanquisher of men's endeavors,
the purifier of the world's sins.
Born from forgotten despair,
you have been granted freedom to flow,
forever in the great sea of fate.
